First and foremost, I am not a doctor. I am a wedding planner and we have a ton of clients that are worried about how this is going to affect their wedding or event. So, I want to take a moment today to give you a few tips.

I N S U R A N C E

Invest in event insurance! We recommend a million dollar liability policy so it protects you. You can get this through your home owners policy or you can even just get a policy from another company for a very affordable rate. Make sure your policy includes event cancellation insurance!

Buy off the rack options. Many of the gowns from David's Bridal and Azazie and other popular businesses are made in China and shipping times and availability may be affected. This is a great way

to get out there and support your local businesses! If you aren't sure which bridal shops in your area offer "off the rack" options, get on the phone and give them a call! They might even be offering a trunk show!

Suggest travel insurance to your guests! This is something so many of us skimp on, but that policy may actually come in handy and be well worth the investment. Make sure this policy covers "Acts of God" and other things like a quarantine. Suggest that they do research on their insurance to make sure it covers the right things.

This is a great reason to consider a more intimate wedding. Many of our client's guests are nervous to

travel and guest counts are going down because of the worry of COVID-19. Whether you're planning a wedding sooner or later, this is a great reason to consider a smaller, more intimate wedding close to home.

Did you know that the suggested amount of time to scrub your hands is at least twenty seconds? If you count the seconds the next time you are washing this may come as a bit of a surprise to you as everyone is always rushing through life! If we all wash our hands at every chance we can get and try to prevent hand-shaking and hugging, everyone will have a better chance of defense.

These are just a couple tips and truly just the tip of the iceberg. I'd love to see in the comments what your suggestions might be!

Our clients are reaching out to us considering postponing their weddings. My best advice has been to do what feels right for you and your fiance. Do you have guests that won't be able to attend your wedding who you wouldn't want to get married without? Do you have a lot of elderly guests that require travel? Whatever you decide, just do what feels right. Contact your wedding planner to ask them what their postponement policy is and have them find out what all of your vendors' policy's are. This is one of the many reasons you have hired a planner and they are there to help and support you through these difficult and stressful times!

Good luck, stay calm and WASH YOUR HANDS!

XO,

Sarah
